Award-winning 4 IN A BAR is one of Ireland’s most loved vocal ensembles. Eoin, Tristan, Paul and Shane - proud holders of the IABS International Male Voice Quartet Award (and five-time Gold Medal winners) - combine a passion for close harmony singing with their interest in Ancient, Classical, Irish traditional, barbershop and pop music.

The Grand Masonic Lodge of Ireland, Molesworth St, D2This year, our Christmas concert includes ancient music by Victoria (C. 15th, Spain), our majestic arrangement of Handel's Hallelujah!, beautiful contemporary music by Michael McGlynn (director of Anuna) and our awesome new 'Festival of Carols in Two Minutes'.
On Dec 1st we will be joined by acappella college guys the Trinitones, and on Dec 2nd Navá, the Persian-Irish trad group.

Zurich, Basel, BernArriving with a concert program of Irish music, Classical repertoire and some Swiss melodies too, 4 in a Bar is looking forward to seeing the snowy valleys of Switzerland in their first foreign tour of 2019.
Venues in Zurich, Basel and Bern are yet to be confirmed, but full details will be posted here in the coming weeks.

The National Concert HALLIn celebration of Saint Patrick's Day and all things Irish, 4 in a Bar returns to the NCH with its concert program dedicated to the music of Ireland, an exposé of airs, ballads, jigs and melodies old and new.
This unique concert includes new arrangements by Eoin Conway, contemporary Classical works by composers Seán Doherty and Michael McGlynn, ancient Irish tunes and the work of Romantic, Anglo-Irish composers such as C. V. Stanford and John Field. Enjoy also the guys' foot-tapping traditional jig, a heart-stirring arrangement of The Parting Glass and music by Van Morrison and U2.

THE NATIONAL CONCERT HALL4 in a Bar returns to the NCH with their celebrated concert programme of love music throughout the ages – all seven types of love, according to the Ancient Greeks!
We begin with Jacobean-era courtly love, Renaissance madrigals, Moore's Irish melodies and music in the years around 1916. In full vocal harmony, enjoy hits from the musicals, Sinatra, The Beatles, Christina Perri, U2 and the Jungle Book – songs of romance, flirting, friendship, family, universal peace and charity.

10-year anniversary concert.
The National Concert HALL, duBLINAround this time ten years ago, four singing friends were drawn together in search of fresh inspiration. Then one night, by pale laptop light they peered through a YouTube window into the American world of barbershop harmony singing and thought: Let's do that!
The rest is history, and this year the quartet celebrates its longevity with its most popular concert programme to date: 'The Vocal Harmony of Ireland'. Afterwards a drinks reception will be held with ten-year retrospective for the craic.

Road to the Rising, 1916.
O'Connell Street, Dublin4 in a Bar is delighted to have been invited to perform in the Road to the Rising celebrations on Easter Monday, April 6th this year.
We will start the day in RTÉ studios, singing and 'talking barbershop' with John Murray live on air (RTÉ Radio 1). Later we take the stage on O'Connell Street at 12noon and 2pm (approx) to perform some 1916-era songs in close harmony, while our newly recorded version of Macushla will be broadcast on the History programme on Radio 1 between 1:30 and 3pm. -

BLOOM IN THE PARK
PHOENIX PARK, DUBLINBloom in the Park is Ireland's leading horticulture and food festival which takes place each year over the June Bank Holiday. Bloom, which is organised by Bord Bia, is now in it's 9th year.

BARBERSHOP SINGING: 2016 CONVENTION
HARROWGATE, YORKSHIRE, UKAs IABS winners of the Male Quartet Gold Medal, we are rewarded with an opportunity to compete in other European conventions. This year, we'll be travelling across the water to join the good people of BABS.
We'll be competing for a score sufficiently high that we may then be eligible to compete in July 2017 in the USA, the home of barbershop. Wish us luck! :)

PHOENIX PARK, DUBLINLast year, only the plants were happy. It was a wet, cold, blustery, waistcoat-curling experience... some lovely vendors took pity on us and fed us strawberries! We sang our little shivering hearts out but Mother Nature wasn't sympathetic...
This year, we PROMISE to singing in a blaze of evening sunshine, smelling the roses and running through fields of green. Just in case, we will have on hand our new 4 in a Bar red-and-white striped umbrellas!

IABS 2016 CONVENTION
City hall, corkIn October, barbershop singers from around Ireland and the world gather at the annual Convention of the Irish Association of Barbershop Singing, this year held in Cork.
We'll be singing in the Friday evening show with a new arrangement a U2 song (shh, it's a surprise!) and competing again on Saturday afternoon in the International section with two songs - 'Beautiful Dreamer' and 'Something Tells Me I'm Into Something Good'. Fingers crossed!
